Be a reader of idle books

Since childhood, many people have asked me questions about "reading" on various occasions, which can be summarized as follows:
What kind of books do you like to read?
You read so many books, what's the use?
You read so many books, can you remember?
However, a scene that impressed me deeply was that I went to interview the legal affairs of an airline company when I graduated from graduate school. During the on-site structured interview, one of the leaders read my resume and asked, "Look at your resume and you like reading books, what books have you been reading recently?"
I replied, "The Right Bank of the Erguna River by Chi Zijian."
And then, there was no then…
I think it is probably because this book is too small for them, there is no control of people, there is no management, and there is no promotion and wealth…
When there are many roads, we get lost because we don't know where to go."
However, I think there is a kind of utilitarian orientation behind these problems, that is, reading is to obtain certain "benefits" that are best materialized and measurable, and to achieve "usefulness".
Indeed, reading has many benefits, as the old saying goes :" In the book there is a golden house, in the book there is a jade." Both ancient and modern people know that reading is of great benefit. In a nutshell, it allows people to acquire all kinds of knowledge that make our lives better, to see things without leaving the house, and to become a happier person. Especially if you read a novel, after reading a book, you will seem to follow the protagonist through his life, which is not very wonderful life experience.
However, if something becomes utilitarian, task and force to get positive benefits from it, then things will change qualitatively in the "bad direction", and you will feel boring, limited and greatly burdened.
I still remember when I read the Harry Potter series in the fourth grade of primary school, I could read one book a day without eating or sleeping. My mother shouted that I would not eat, so that she angrily gave an ultimatum: if I do not go to eat, I will burn my book. Only then did I close the book sulkily.
But since then I have thoroughly liked reading, here I want to thank my elder sister, she was in college, every summer vacation and winter vacation, will bring me a variety of books. From this experience, it shouldn't be hard to get a child to love reading, the key is to find a suitable set of books for entry level, hahaha. After I went to middle school and high school, every summer vacation and winter vacation, I would pour out a bag of books at home, and then choose what I want to see, such as Gone with the Wind, I read it many times, so that I think my personality is a little like the heroine; For example, "Sophie's World", every time I watch it, I wonder if one day my world will appear a mysterious person who writes to me or a magical rabbit; And "Harry Potter" series, in fact, I don't like the halo of the protagonist Harry Potter, I like the elf Dobby…
After I went to college, I was more free, I could read hundreds of books every year, and slowly formed my own reading style and preferences.
Wait for work, ahem… My reading state will return to the stage of pre-school-age children. I want to read, but I can't settle down. It's not that I don't have time, but I just can't settle down. ?
Duan said that reading should return to the original heart, relaxed and enjoyable.
I deeply believe that the most natural state of life is to go along with it, don't force yourself to do anything, don't work against yourself, otherwise the life is too twisted. For a long time, I lived to challenge myself, like to run half a horse. Then because the amount of exercise is too big, headache for a week, the old doctor of the school hospital said: Are you in the physical education department? Did your parents send you here so you could run? Do you see athletes living a long life? Look at that turtle. Do you know Nan Huaijin? I thought, Grandpa know so much, see a disease even turtle ah, Nan Huaijin old man ah are pulled on. But no nonsense, since then I have figured out: people do not challenge themselves, do not work against themselves, to take care of their bodies.
Similarly, reading is the same, the recent period of time do not want to see, there is always want to see time; Which book can make you feel happy at this stage, then read it, there is no need to read the "book" in the eyes of successful people, as long as it is happy to read, whether it is a novel or popular science or children's picture books or management books, you can read it; On the contrary, now many best-selling covers will write XX star recommendations, sales XX million copies, but really not suitable for you.
Anyway, don't follow the crowd in anything.
For example, before going to college, I really liked to watch the world novel classics, those famous I have read many, the four classics have also read. But after going to college, it seems that my "novel nerve" was completely closed, and I could not read it anyway, so I turned to philosophy, economics and prose. After work, I like to read some more esoteric and obscure books, such as management, research on human thinking patterns, behavior patterns and so on.
In general, it seems to be a stage of development from the outside to the inside.
Read different books at different stages of life.
In short, if you want to avoid hating reading, you have to follow your own taste; If you want to like reading, you have to read non-professional, non-work related, so that you can not burden, aimless easy reading.
But in the end, there will also be unexpected blessings, such as being able to sit and lie down during the epidemic…
